Sonal Patel, M.D.

Principal Investigator

Dr. Patel is double board–certified in allergy and clinical immunology as well as pediatrics. Dr. Patel initially trained in pediatrics at King-Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles. She then went on to complete a clinical allergy and immunology fellowship at the UCLA School of Medicine. She also completed a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. Her clinical interests include asthma and atopic dermatitis (eczema).

Dr. Patel has a strong interest in working with inner-city patients and the underserved. She has been on international medical missions to Peru, El Salvador, and Mexico. She has also served on the board for the American Lung Association in California. She is currently on the board of the Los Angeles Society of Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology and the California Society of Allergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology. Dr. Patel is a native Angelino. She currently lives in Glendale, California, with her husband and twin daughters. In her spare time she volunteers at her children’s elementary school. She is currently learning to knit and crochet. Her other personal interests include traveling, reading, movies, and dance.​
